London (DAY 1)

We arrived in London and went straight to the Mandarin Oriental for a welcome lunch and hotel inspection. Lunch was served in a beautiful room with a balcony and steps leading out to Hyde Park (the Royal Entrance).

Mandarin Oriental-
Offering views over Knightsbridge and Hyde Park, this timeless, elegant hotel was fully refurbished in 2013. Country meets city in their exquisite décor. The hotel is home to two award-winning restaurants, Bar Boulud and Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, and a stunning bar. Their brand-new luxurious spa and wellness retreat is spread over two floors and includes a state-of-the-art fitness center and pool.

After checking into our Virtuoso hotels across the city, we met up at The Goring for a fabulous candlelit dinner in their Dining Room and site inspection.

The Goring was granted a Royal Warrant from The Queen.

The Goring-

Family-run for over a century, the Goring has welcomed Heads of State, World Leaders, and most recently, the Middleton family on the eve of the Royal Wedding. A fair proportion of the sixty-nine rooms and suites overlook the hotel’s quiet, private garden. The quintessentially English charm and character is captured in the bedroom décor with intricate silk wallcoverings that each have a storied place in English history. Hidden away from the hustle and bustle of city traffic in Belgravia, this boutique hotel has exceptional dining, a lively cocktail bar, and a special children’s program.
